We've been using Trimble's EZGuide plus with EZSteer with little knowledge of it's technical secrets but have enjoyed good results. While most of EZ's engineering details are unpublished, Trimble has published a technical paper that describes performance of EZ's Hurricane antenna as compared to 2 other types of antennas.

Some folks might find the section on dynamic performance in tree canopy induced multi path environments informative. We often use EZGuide plus in fields that have forested edges, where tree canopy multi path can be a problem. Here is link to that paper (caution, pdf file):
