Carbondale, KS | John,
You can be alright w/it if we get some rain in August. Regardless of the day RM, i would try to have it pollinating about the 3rd week of Aug - good luck figuring that one out. Typically we have a cold front come thru and things cool down for 4-5 days and we even get some rain w/it once in a while. This is based on some of KSU's research of weather and timing etc. That and my summer doves fly south about a week before opening day - lol.
We've planted from 97 - 114 day around the 1st of june and the drydown on the later stuff was slow. I think we picked it the first of december or so and it came out at 17. Popup fertilizer w/a good amount of P will help push it along. Definately go w/the corn bore.
We plan on double cropping some 100 day stuff if we can get our wheat out by the 1st of july fwiw. | |
