Wardsville, Ontario, Canada | I planted some Timothy, Tall fescue, etc into some worked up wheat ground last August. It came up well and made it through the winter quite good. (better than some of my alfalfa) However I see quite a bit of wheat starting to head in this hay crop. I just wondered about the health risks, if any, to the horses that will be eating this hay. Was wondering if the first cut should go to cattle instead. Any comments would be appreciated. Even the ones about how a claas combine left so much wheat on the ground. I couldn't have left too much behind because the field went 97 bushels per acre. Just waitin' for some rain here in Southern Ont. |
