I would just take a knife and cut the bag off at the band. It should just leave a little hole if any. If you are worried just spray some iodine on it. I've taken week old calves and banded them for a week or two, then cut it off, no problems. I prefer to knife cut calves at branding, I've seen old rubber bands fail, sometimes. If you are going to use bands, make sure they are fresh ones, and who ever is banding can count to two. |
