Subject: Taking the plunge, would appreciate comments/suggestions

I'm ready to install autosteer, and am considering EZ Guide 500 or comparable product. Have TeeJet SwathXL that I've used for 5+ years for spraying, and have been happy with the results.

I will use this mainly for drilling seed and I have calculated my payback to be nearly $10,000 per year, so I'm not afraid to (edit: spend some money for good equipment up front---ie: I don't really want to start out too small, then work into it)

After reading several pages worth of posts, I think I would prefer a steering valve and Omnistar (XP? the one with 4" accuracy). I will be planting on pivots, no trees, but in mountain valleys in the western US.

I have no dealers within 200+ miles--and have called a couple of companies with questions, but they have not returned by calls---so I'm quite agreeable to purchase from a dealer in the midwest (or anywhere).

This would be installed on a Deere 8000 series.

Suggestions on products?

Are there free trial periods/ and on what products?

Which products will give 4" or less accuracy consistently?

Thanks for any replies.
