Subject: Re: Very strange Direct Command problems

talking to our tech guy i found out a little more.

because the pollyswitch is a thermal type fuse during hot weather they are also more likely to trip.

anything that causes the motor to draw more current will warm up the pollyswitch such as low voltage at the valves, extra friction on the ball valves, etc.

we have tested the frequent switching and found that if there is a lot of on/off cycles without enough time for the pollyswitch to cool down then that could also cause it to trip.

Main thing to note from my experiences are the following
1. ensure section control system is not setup to be too sensitive to missed gaps (how to do this depends on brand of auto section controller)
2. ensure bolts holding valves together are not overtightened if they have been adjusted for any servicing
3. ensure boom is flushed properly and valves are kept in good clean condition.
4. ensure suitable gauge wiring is used to supply correct voltage to valves
