E.Central MN | I tend to agree with you, except that I think that it would be a larger percentage that would quit the business. Perhaps it would take 10 years or more, but I think over half would quit the business or be forced out. Land ownership might not change as fast, but the trend to land owners following the money to big operators would accelerate even faster than it is now. The only factor that could prevent it is the ethanol factor. If it goes away then a lot of smaller/midsize farmers would probably decide to hang it up. | |
