SWNE
People especially young people imitate what they see to a certain extent. Younger wrestlers and athletes look up to the older ones as role models. What they would see that its alright to hurt girls/women as long as there is a reasonable justification for it (she's on the mat and wants to be there). What would they use as a justification the next time, she made me angry, she wouldn't be quiet, i saw her with another man, i think you get where Im going. It would appear as if society is saying its okay as long as there's a good reason.

As far as young people inflicting pain on each for sport being stupid I would disagree when it came to the boys. It does build character and give them a mental toughness that can be very advantageous they're whole life. It does need to be controlled and monitored but I wouldn't say that it is a bad thing.
