Subject: Important FODM Update

We have found an issue with FODM rasterization engine that can cause the generation of zero-rate cells in raster based seeding prescriptions (Deere and Ag Leader).   This situation can occur for raster cells which intersect with two or more polygons in the prescription layer, and the value of all the polygons interesected is the minimum value of the map, and only when the polygon application rates are high values, such as seeding.   The problem was a rounding error in the 15th digit of precision, used in an equality test.

This is not a very common situation, but in the last few days we have received two examples where a few cells were erroneously set to zero in this situation.

If you are using software that generates prescriptions using FODM, and think that you might be affected by this, please go to the FODD Updates page and install the latest version of the FODM Runtime (third-link from the bottom).   You should always be able to update FODM and the individual FODDs w/o waiting for a full software update from your software vendor.   When installing any of these updates, we recommend rebooting your computer to release any components that might be lingering in memory, and THEN run the updates.

We apolgize if this oversight has caused any problem for those of you using FODM generated seeding prescriptions.
