Dutch,

In addition to what has been said, iGuide is attempting to keep a planter on the correct path through the use of software. Other companies that I've heard of have some large steering discs attached to the rear of the planter or what ever impliment that are controlled by a gps reciever, they in turn steer the impliment.

If Deere can make it work doing it without additional expensive hardware would be a lot nicer and work with a lot more applications.

It used to be when you worked with a company to test their products you got something in return for that use. Seems the trend now days is they want you to pay for their product even though it is not finished and then be the beta tester for them and smile all the time you're sitting at the end of the field and not running.

We used to do it a lot, but finally decided it was not worth the trouble. One chemical/seed agronomist got upset with us last year when he offered us $200 worth of product to take a half day planting his "special" plot and then having to clean out our sprayer and spray it with a product we were not going to be using. He took off in a hurry when we told him we wanted no less than $1000 worth of product for our trouble.

Until they run out of people willing to do it for practically nothing they will continue the way they are now.
