Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
The BAUD rate would need to be set faster than 4800 for ASAP to give you the faster output.

With a BAUD rate of 4800 - ASAP (As Soon As Possible) means that the 5100 will try to send out the message packets as quicky as possible. With this slower BAUD rate there isn't enough time to get the packet out before another comes along, so the messages must be slowed down or the BAUD rate speeded up. ASAp means shove them out there as quckly as possible with a given BAUD rate.

This is somewhat like putting bales in a bale conveyor. If you want them to come out faster in the barn, you need to put them in more often on the ground end. There comes a point where you can't put them in any faster on the ground end since the last basle isn't out of the way yet. Your only choice is to speed up the conveyor. The BAUD rate is somewhat akin to the conveyor speed.

This is a situation where a 332 would have an advantage over the 5100 (252). Since the 332 has it's own display, you would not need to use Ag Remote on a PC to change the settings. Using Ag Remote can be confusing since the port you are hooked to must be able to talk to Ag Remote but then revert back to the settings really needed for actual use once Ag Remote is disconnected.
