Subject: Trimble Autopilot on STX Tractors

Clark County, SE Illinois
Does anyone have experience with this setup? Our STX 275 steering seems to be very slow. It makes it hard for the tractor to aquire the A-B line unless lined up very well before engaging the autosteer. Our tractor is equipped with Accu-steer, which was disabled when the autopilot was installed. Both my dealer and Trimble feel the sluggish steering may have something to do with the Accu-steer valve in the tractor, which I believe is different that the standard steer valve.
What I am curious to know is how well a STX 275 without the accusteer valve works with the autopilot. If they work well, I might be willing to try and put a standard valve on our tractor.
Also, how well might an EZ steer work on this tractor with accusteer enabled. It seems to me that it might actually work better than the autopilot is working now.
