Cattle can get accidosis from eating whole ear corn. We treated a cow for it last winter. Once the corn has passed from the cow the most of the nutriets are gone. Grinding the corn makes a small difference in nutrient uptake and there are many studies on this subject.
Can cows eat ear corn that is not ground?
