Somerville, Indiana | You are right. Row crop farmers need to think about what they can do to help the livestock farmers. Ethanol can very possibly be a passing trend and turn out to be a thorn in everybody's side. The smell and truck traffic from the alky plants aren't pleasant either. Livestock farmers are our neighbors. Lets do what we can to keep them. I have a hog farmer to the north, two more to the southwest, Yes there is an odor at times, but there are things that I do that probably get on their nerves too but we all get along. We are all in this together and we can pull it thru if we pull together and try our best to get along with our neighbors. Most already have figured out my definition of a true neighbor=it has absolutely nothing to do with where he lives either! | |
