Subject: RE: Whoa there

NW IOWA
No I'm under that by close to 100K and last year was a good year. I don't disagree with you, I often wish I was either 20 years younger or 20 years older. If I was older I would retire and if I was younger I would be doing something besides farming. I feel we are all being pushed out of our operations. The small guy is being pushed by the more aggressive larger farmer and the larger farmer is being pushed by the smaller (poor ole me farmer) and the public. The regulations will put an end to the small farmer sooner than the big farmer because he will also be required to meet regulation as well as large farmers and the small guy won't have the volume to spread it out on. For instance if they ban farrowing crates I surly will not redo my operation I'll quit. Dad quit farming because it wasn't fun anymore and yes he was retirement age. Well you know it's getting so it isn't fun anymore. Like someone said there is life after farming and it could even be a better life?
