| I'm thinking about getting a harness to make the monitor sensors from a Dickey John djpm 3000 work on my GS2 2600. I would like to clear up cab clutter and get rid of what must be the most annoying planter monitor on the planet. Ag Express wants $1600 dollars for the kit. Sounds like an awful lot. Will I be pleased with the GS2's "virtual terminal" population monitor? Is it worth the $$? Or is there a better, smaller, less annoying population monitor out there that would hook right up and not cost as much? This is on a Knize 2600 12/24 that is my second planter primarily planting beans.

| It works okay, worst part is you can't split screen VT items with guidance screens on the 2600. That and the Dickey-John VT planter monitor will throw a full screen error message that cover everything up if a row stops planting.

Rochester, IL | go with the 20/20. it won't help with cab clutter, but it will give you more info than either pm3000 or GS2 will. the most important pass you make is with the planter, so you want to make sure it is perfect or darn near it. |

| This is a second planter that does mostly beans and a little corn in a pinch. I don't want to spend that much money, I assume a 20/20 is more than $1600.00. Just looking for a way to improve on what I have in the way of user-friendliness without spending too much on an older planter. |

| I could probably handle those downfalls, as I am not running guidence on this unit. I use the 2600 on this planter for variety maps only. |

Rochester, IL | I'm pretty sure it is going to cost more than $1600 to monitor a population on a non Green planter. You will need harnessing and there wedgebox I believe.
I'm not a pro on JD's stuff, but I think it is usually pretty expensive to put the required components on a non JD implement. |

| Does your planting data such as target rate, and actual seeding rate get unloaded into apex just as if you were running seedstar? |
|

DES MOINES, IOWA | If you already have a PM3000 harness on the planter, and your sensors are the Hi Rate sensors, you will only need the Ag Express kit. The $1600 covers everything. |

| As I can recall, you manually enter your target population and thats what it records. No actual population is recorded. That's a good question though. I wonder if I will get an actual population as read from the virtual terminal if I convert to that.

| Yes thats what I am wondering, right now with your setup your just using field doc basic you could call it, but I am wonding if with the conversion it will read actual. |
