Measured it out to add to the drinking water. The stuff was also labelled for pigs. We used to keep 500 Leghorn laying hens and another 500 pullets coming on. Had a couple brooder houses on skids with LP brooders. Got the chickens in Feb-March. In the spring pulled the brooders out to a hayfield and let the chickens run out. Kept the layers in the big chicken house and never let them out. Automatic timer put lights on at 4AM in winter months. Had a state license to candle and sell eggs to the local grocery stores. In later years just raised some fryers and enough hens for eggs for our own use and neighbors. Seems the brown egg laying chickens were Silgo-links? They were a heck of a lot smarter and tamer chicken than the stupid wild Leghorns. Raised some kind of Rock fryers that grew too big too fast and their legs gave out if you let them get too big. Don't miss chickens at all!
