E.Central MN | I've never heard about taking feed away from them at night. The cornish cross broilers must have bred all the smart genetics out of them just so they'd just sit at the feeder and eat all day. But man did they taste great. We used to raise a few hundred every year, but it seems like the predators got worse and worse. Darn raccoons, dogs, mink, skunks, owls.....nothing worse than seeing a dozen fully grown chickens laying dead in the chicken yard. Raised mallard ducks one year, took 3 times as much feed and got about 1/4 as much meat. All you guys talking about chickens makes me think about raising some.... | |
