Subject: Re: growing 100 bushel wheat

frederick, MD
I have been bumping the 100 bushel mark for many years. My goal is now 120. My wheat has tillers more this fall then ever, so now I dont know how I should treat it in the spring. I normally put on 50 lbs of n as soon as i think its going to break dormancy. and then I come back with another 50 around april 1st. Now I have so many tillers in the fall I am afraid if I do that this year I will get too much growth and have lodging problems and diesease.
