Make sure you have enough available P to support early root development and tillering. Of all the things that you can do to increase your yield "potential" this may be one of the easiest and most cost effective. The earlier post was correct in that many of the factors are out of our control. All you can do is to eliminate as many of the yield limiting factors as possible and pray that weather is favorable for plant development, tillering, good spring growth, no late freeze, and a good harvest. If you get most of that you may get the exceptional yields you are looking for.
