naturally aspirated is no turbo.

Before they were mandated to switch to the v8's they used a v10 that had gotten too powerful, and was pushing a thousand hp while turning 20000 rpm. They did this to cut down on their speeds which didn't help. v10's are still allowed but rpm limited to about 16200 so the v8's will still have an advantage.

You are correct on the air pressured valve actuators. Pretty wild stuff when you hear it scream. Powerband is not as peaky as you might imagine with strong pull really kicking in around 8-9000 with these little motors.
