Subject: Chev Tahoe starting problem

Nusbaum Farms LLC Bellfountain, OR
My wife's '98 Tahoe (350 gasser) has developed an intermittent problem. When you attempt to start it, it will fire, then die. Sometimes takes 5-6 tries to get it running. The problem seems worse when it's cold, but it has done it hot also. I myself have only experienced it a few times, and I'm not sure whether it dies immediately upon firing, or when the key is released. I'm thinking bad key switch, or maybe fuel pump relay. Check engine light does NOT come on, and I have not scanned for codes yet. Any ideas? TIA
