Subject: Re: How big of bolts for mounting weight bracket?

Central Texas , Bastrop county
Back about 50 years ago when I worked on B36 bombers, the entire engine and accessory package was held on by 4 5/8 bolts. those engines were 4360 cubic inches displacement and about 3500 hp.. I always thought that I would never have the courage to trust that arrangement, but it worked.I dont know what the engine package weighed but it must have been 7 or 8000#.The distance from the attach point and the tip of the prop was about 8Ft. or so! Go figure.
