Subject: Freeze damage wheat

Seneca Kansas 66538
Well I think everyone knows its the buzz now, just wondering how many others have wheat that is looking like damage is occuring or is going to occur over the weekend. Took some wheat into the agronomist and he said it is very succeptable to freeze damage and they are talking 18 degrees here in NEKS by saturday night. We have small heads forming in the wheat here so I can just imagine the wheat is further along out west and south. Already in this year of 2007 we have a weather event, that is more than likely taking yield off the crop. I might be a lil pesimist at this point but I am afraid of 80-90 percent damgage to this particular field of wheat we looked at this am. Its the 15" wheat and was growing fast and looking wonderful. I will try to post photos later.
