Subject: Autopilot on SPX 3185

West Central Indiana
We just installed an Autopilot system on a Case IH SPX 3185 sprayer and are having some trouble with it acquiring the line. Has anyone had Autopilot experience with this machine? It's running the latest firmware on NAV II controller, 252 receiver and 900 radio on RTK. The machine runs smooth as glass once it is online. However, if you try to do an agressive line acquisition, say something like a 45 deg angle, it will chase itself back and forth across the line for at least a couple hundred feet. You have to slow way down for it to finally settle on the line. We are also noticing that when you try to raise the boom with AP engaged the front wheels begin to chatter back and forth rapidly. Trimble had us check the priority valve on the machine, Case IH told us to check the flow from the hydraulic pump to the priority valve, then from the priority valve to the steering valve. Everything checked out great in both of those areas. We also checked pressure at the AutoPilot valve, which is running at 2800 PSI which is actually just a touch on the high side, but still OK.

Steering gain was set at 22, Agressiveness was set at 74%, can't remember what deadzones were set at - will have to post that one later. All other settings seem to match what is recommended for this machine.
