You are thinking of the switch backwards. When the planter is up, the units go down and hit the switch breaking the circuit.

If your units bounce up they will be even further from the switch. The switch is normally closed meaning that the circuit is complete unless the unit drops low enough to depresses the button.

If you are getting a lot of bounce you might consider slowing down but the bounce will not cause the circuit to be broken unless the bounce is so severe that the planter frame jumps up in the air far enough that the units bottom out. If that happens you are certainly going too fast.
