| Sold calves this week, very happy with prices, calves were GREEN and thin, may caves, all angus, been weaned 100 days green tagged, spent last 3 mo on grass hay and 4 lb/day of a corn protein mix.

After seeing Jan prices I was very happy, usually our lighter calves will outsell the heavey end as the guys going to grass set the price this time of the yr. This year seems like feedlot buyers are driving prices, pushing heavier calves higher.
My question is are we seeing this as a sign of higher corn prices?
Are we likely to see this continue? | |
