central - east central Minnesota - | For what ever reason your post reminded me of a spreadsheet a salesman had in about 1980 or so. Fresh out of high school and a season of college - the timeing was such that I was shopping for center pivot irrigators. The Zimatic (sp?) dealer had a nice little spread sheet showing the price of corn and beans for that year and into the next 5 yrs. At the end of that time period, corn was going to be $7. bucks and Beans were priced at $12 bucks - very easy to see that the pivot payments were going to be made very easily . . . . Showed basiclly the same in his chart - Unprecedented demand = unprecedented (high) prices. The next season, prices fell to the levels we have lived with for over 20yrs. I don't discount your post though - I believe a super cycle or new precedented highs are very possable this season. |
