1. Cold and wet now can be warm and working ground in 10 days, plenty of time until April 15 which is a fairly good time to start planting here.

2. Never base marketing on what happened last year. It will bite us every time. One thing that always held true for me was to be forward contracted by June 20th, but that doesn't work anymore either.

3. We have to decide what our target is, then shoot for it. Don't use any more bullets in the early days of marketing that we can't make it through our deliverys without running out. Maybe should have been rule #1?

4. Those who think we can't lose selling $4 corn haven't done a thorough job of examining input costs yet. Small items like fertilizer, fuel, parts, are going up already, equipment cost is closing in fast.
