I don't necessarily disagree with you. I don't have an opinion which way this thing is going to reach equilibrium, but I'm sure it will. However I do think your last two statements are contradictory. If the "big players" have made aggressive bids to lock up land and purchased machinery, they will be in a very favorable postition under inflationary conditions. The "corn's gonna be $2" scenerio is what would hurt them....high corn prices and inflationary pressure on rent and machinery costs would be in their favor if they have already spent those dollars.
