I would maybe pass on this one, I know of one in NW Ohio that has not run for years because of finals. Parts are had to find at right price, and dozer not worth fixing. Spend the money on a TD-8 or TD-7 with torque convertor, power shift. Check on Auction Time. Com and see the prices or Tractor House. Com. To my knowledge, no 300 ever had torque, only straight drive with reverser. Look at rails, if shot it won't take long to get more into it than it's worth and what work it can do. The TD-8 to this day is one of the nicest all around dozer for the money. I have run the C series up to the G series TD-8's. That TD-8G with the Cummins is nice and lots of power to weight ratio. The JD 350's, 450's are OK, parts are more available, but more expensive to buy, and to me are over rated for the money. Sorry Deere boys, yes I have run newer 450's with total foot steering, but after years on them, my knees don't miss steering twisting and braking for hours. Jump on my friends TD-8, total hand steering and braking, don't bother knees at all, and better control on downward slopes.

After posting, sure your a 300? I forgot numbers, sure it's not a 500 made in late 60's?

The picture is of a crawler with International 300 on the hood. The sale is about 2 weeks away, I will look at it a few days before.

Thanks

Don't remember ever seeing a IH 300 dozer... 300 Farmall and International utility and high clearance wheel tractors, but no dozer. maybe it is a International T-340 or TD-340 dozer.

I have never seen one either, but this is nothing like the T340 or the TD 340. If you want to see a picture of it go to Powers auctions and then click on highway 64 auctions August 28th and then pictures.

John, looked at the auction, and that's what the decals says. I asked another IH man tonight and he never heard of a 300 either. I still think it's a 500. A Deere 350 and IH 500 kimd of look alike, that was the plan for IH. If it is a 500, sterring clutches are a dry type, and rust up not used. All equipment on that auction is kind of limited on information, serial numbers and year. You would think all auction companies would do better job listing, maybe that's the game to get people to auction. Find the serial plate and go from there. Good luck.

Was looking around on google, found this wed site on IH dozers. I was wrong, they did make the 500 and the TD7 in the 70's. They made a E series which the one your looking at might be. Go to site and get pros and cons on all dozer. http://discuss.ibdozing.com/discus/messages/3/398.html?1252033501
