Thats a very disgusting story.

Roundup Ready beets have been the best thing to happen to sugar beets since....well...mechanical harvesters. Unless it gets appealed, this will set the industry back 10 years.

Why single out sugar beets? Why not just throw the blanket "All Roundup Ready crops have increased the use of herbicides" statement. I mean, the amount of Roundup used on sugar beets pails in comparison to the amount used on corn and soys (based on acres).

He said "The Center for Food Safety has countered that farmers can easily go back to using conventional sugar beet seeds, which were widely used as recently as two years ago." - well, non-gmo corn and soys are still readily available too - why not ban RR corn and beans?

Some people need their @$$es checked. I know Monsanto is greedy, but we should throw a few bucks to help fight this one on their behalf.
