In particular the front wheel assist. I think they made some agco stars in silver but were 4wd

Thanks

Guess it depends on what you consider a White tractor. I'd say the Cummins powered 100 series were the last of the true White tractors. The puke green and orange Deutz-Allis 91x0 tractors were essentially a White tractor with a Deutz engine.

I remember this discussion from a while back where Ross does a pretty good job of explaining things. http://talk.newagtalk.com/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=85118&posts=18...

Just for fun, this White dressed in Oliver colors probably qualifies as the last Oliver. Note they neglected to paint the front weights. ;-) http://www.ipbc.net/oliver/Spirit/Spirit.htm

We have a 8310 that is a 1998. I think that was the last year. Great tractor but it rides like a mechanical bull. If we had to do it all over we would buy the 8510 or the 8710 longer frame and much better ride.

If you want a built in Charles City, Ia White you'd have to go back to the 100,120,140,160,185 tractors which were built from I believe 88 to 90.

If you want a designed in Charles City but built in Missouri White you'd need a 125,145,170 or 190 which were built in 91 and 92.

The 6125,6145,6175,6195 and 6215 still have a little bit of Charles City in the rear end and the cast frame. These were built from 93 to 97.

The 8000 series Agco Whites (8310,8410,8510,8610,8710,8810) were built from 98 to about 2000 or 2001 maybe. These tractors were Massey's painted Silver with a Cummins under the hood. Whenever the RT and DT AGCO tractors came out that was the end of painting Massey's Silver.

Why exactly do you want to know?  Are you looking to buy one of the best tractors ever built in Iowa?Smile

Yep, last one fully built and assembled in the venerable Charles City plant was a White 100 on March 25, 1988. After that, Charles City still manufactured components and the foundry remained active until 1993 but tractor assembly was in Coldwater, Ohio. The last tractor to appear in the silver color was the 8000 series built through 2001.

9700 - 8/13/2010 21:50  The last tractor to appear in the silver color was the 8000 series built through 2001.

Which had very little to do with the White tractors prior to it. Mainly it had a Cummins under the hood and was painted silver/black.

Did they move some of the foundry to another location?

I'm almost 100% positive that the rear end of the 6100 series (except for the 6124/6144) is the same as the Charles City tractors.

Correct. The 8000 series was all AGCO and was a bit more MF-based as these tractors were built in Coldwater, Ohio for the first few years and then in Beauvais, France the remaining years to present day. No more White powertrain in them. The 6000s were badged as AGCO White tractors but were largely White (cab and rear end) with a Funk-sourced powershift trans and continuing the Cummins engine. In the last years of this series ('96 into early '97) the Charles City foundry was already closed but AGCO placed a significant final order for the traditional White transaxles in order to get them through until the introduction of the 8000 series. The foundry was never moved, but I do wonder if AGCO didn't retain the molds for certain castings in production at the end, such as for the transaxle.

Haha. I'd consider it. We have a 2-155 and repainted it and use it still often. Been fighting the a/c a lot but I think I got it figured out. Damn good tractors. Would have loved to change the hercules to a cummins but hell that's a 5 grand investment

It was hard enuff buying new tires. Hell those cost more than the tractor.
