Subject: JD Autotrac Universal - Advice please !!

Have been trying a JD Autotrac Universal today on a JD 6820 tractor. It was only on SF1 and was quite impressed with the accuracy and useability. Only concern was that when using the steering wheel manually it made the steering quite heavy and much harder to turn than when this device is not fitted. JD man said it was due to the clutch inside and it would possibly free off with use. As the steering on this machine is quite light to start with, it worries me how hard it would make the wheel to turn on a machine that was stiffer in the first place. Anyone had any experience of these units ?? I would really appreciate knowing if this was an odd one or if they are all like this. Thanks.
