Dallas Center IA 515-720-2463 | I know nothing about model numbers or much of anything else. My photo deal says the pics were taken about 9:00 AM last saturday August 7. And a couple of them look very much like outside the front entrance to the Claas factory in Omaha. West Central, IL | I think it looks really good, I'm really glad that they didn't go with the other colors that they use over in other country's.

Claas 600 (euro) --> 770 (585 hp max, Mercedes V8 engine (T3)) Claas 590 (580 euro) --> 760 (530 hp max, Mercedes V8 engine (T3)) Claas 580 (570 euro) --> 750 (466 hp max, Cat C13 engine (T3)) Claas 570 (570C euro I guess) --> (431 hp max, Cat C13 engine (T3)) The 770 will have hydropneumatic suspension on the tracks. Not sure about the others. They all use the same cab as the 494 Jaguars and Tucano combines. *all hp figures come from European brochures, might be different in NA. 600 series will be walker combines, all powered by a Cat C13 (670) or C9 engine (others). There will probably be some changes within the next 15 months to switch the range to iT4 (and maybe a 780 model for Europe) Edited by canadian farmer 8/12/2010 13:09

Iowa | Interesting to see the AutoFarm/Ag Leader ParaDyme roof array on the cab roof considering that to-date, Hemisphere/Outback has been CLAAS' partner for vehicle guidance and steering.

Dallas Center IA 515-720-2463 | Last July 22 I was at the Claas factory in Omaha. They have a nice display area at what I assume is the main entrance. Both times I have been there a Lexion 580 combine and Jaguar forage harvestor were inside, both without headers. Another Lexion was just outside the door. Also inside is a about 1960 Claas combine, several display items probably for farm shows, - cleaning shoe, cylinder, etc. TVs playing propagama, lots of sales literature. Also a theater and meeting rooms. And a store with Lexion, Claas and some Cat stuff. But not one warm company body present! If you need to see someone, you are suppose to call on the phone and they will come to you. And a good listing of phone numbers. I have wanted in that store, called the number on the phone, but never an answer. But last time a company person was walking thru the area, so I asked about opening the store. Pretty soon a nice lady was there to take my money. I made it worth her time. And I asked if factory tours were possible. Didn't need to be today. "The factory is shutdown for --------" I can't remember what the reason she said. I replied that I knew new models were on the way, and they would not want the public to see them yet, but anytime later would be OK. No reply. I kinda assume these combines in the pics are the ones heading for the fall farm shows - Farm Progress, etc. And I kinda felt the fall show ones would be built in Germany and spend some time on the boat. But maybe they were built in Omaha. I'm hopin for the price of that machine that hopefully they will at least paint that aluminum (extension) rear access ladder or maybe make a small design change. Impressive machine anyhow.

Both sides of the Mason-Dixon Line | You're right, its interesting, but the Claas is the only manufacturer to offer an Ag Leader yield monitor as a factory installed. Glad to see that won't change.

I don't like it. They are ruining the looks of farm equipment IMO. Why is there a need to make farm equipment look like the future? Look at the new Case Tractors, John Deere Combine, Grain Tank Hopper Extensions, Possibly a new Hagie sprayer, etc. All of these new machines are hideous and should be sent back to the drawing board. Anyone else agree?

North Carolina | Have been told by the local Claas dealer that the middle digit of the new series model numbers is "3 numbers below" the combine class size. So, a 770 would be theoretically be a Class 10. He sent me a pic of a 750 in a field with a flex platform. Was 770 the highest model number you saw on the yard?

Dallas Center IA 515-720-2463 | I didn't take the pictures. They are from The Combine Forum http://combineforums.proboards.com/index.cgi Click on Lexion Then New Class 10 770 at Omaha Or did I see any sign of a new model in the outside yard, fenced in and I couldn't get very close. I bet if my Jeep were seen driving around the yard, a company person would have been there PDQ. The pics I posted above were taken 16 days after the last time I was there. July 22 vs Aug 7 The pics below are from my June 25 or July 22 visit (2010_06250019.jpg) (2010_06250009.jpg) Attachments ---------------- 2010_06250019.jpg (63KB - 488 downloads) 2010_06250009.jpg (80KB - 416 downloads)

Is it just the light or did they add a bit of green to the yellow? Doesn't look quite like Cat yellow anymore... Rod

Doesn't look like Cat yellow to me either. Probably has to do with the fact that the two largest models (and probably the best sellers) have Mercedes V8 engines.

I'm wondering if it's the start of a transition to lime green... Rod

I would hope so, but I doubt it. Would be a bold move from Claas. But then again, they may convert to lime green when they decide to intro their full line of tractors in NA. Looks like they have something interesting coming up soon... 380 hp max. http://www.farmphoto.com/thread.aspx?mid=856638 Edited by canadian farmer 8/12/2010 17:34 (image.aspx (12).jpg) (image.aspx (10).jpg) Attachments ---------------- image.aspx (12).jpg (53KB - 361 downloads) image.aspx (10).jpg (35KB - 372 downloads)

Eastern Ontario | Anybody have any pics of the new draper header with the augers in the center? I caught a glimpse of these machines in late June early July when they were being demoed for the dealers. There was a draper but I couldn't get close enough to see much detail.
