Mid-East Nebraska | We have customers that will put a stationary post in every field and put the base station on that post for 24 hour survey, you will have to number every field, then when you go to that field you will put the base station on that field and know were it is at. The base station will go 6 miles out, but the antenna will have to be in the line of site of the tractor to make RTK work. You can put a repeater on to go around buildings or trees, but the total should not be more then 6 miles. The RTK signal will not go thru trees. There is thing called RTK Extend that you will have 15 minutes if you lose the line of site, after 15 minutes and it dose not see the signal from the RTK it will stop Auto-Trac, that is what the repeater is for. The higher the antenna is the better the tractor will see the signal. Do not put the base station on a tower, grain leg or anything that has movement, only the antenna can be that high. | |
