Central IL
just an observation on my part. I'm very small time with no on farm storage. I'm at the mercy of basis levels, just seems like every time I breathe a sigh of relief on market prices I take a beating on basis. I'm not looking to sell my remaining bushels just yet, just keeping an eye out and your speculations of basis becoming more friendly (at least not as hostile) in coming weeks eases the fear factor.

The Katrina basis levels (WOW!) and the refusal of the elevators to accept incoming grain put me in a real bind in the harvest of '05.

Just in a spot where basis tends to crunch me, and something I can't tend to see on the charts, and haven't been doing it long enough to sense what's coming.
