We have Smartrax on a 1264 Rogator, and it can be a bear to calibrate. As suggested, make sure the receiver port ouputting to the smartrax box is set to 10 Hz. You might also want to test the flow setting on the valve block, it should take about 13 seconds to go lock to lock if memory serves me correctly. The procedure is outlined in the book. You might want to check what firmware version it is running as well. I had troulbe configuring it with the old firmware Either had to accept good online performance at the expense of line acquisition,or the converse, never could get both. The new firmware uses software to auto configure all the control loop settings based on wheelbase, and turning radius. Really wish we had just bit the bullet and gone Autopilot, if we had the Raven gyros, or "GPS enhancer" as they call it, we would have been about the same money. Could be a bad or damaged steering position sensor, that would definitely cause the symptoms you are describing. Check the resistance between the signal wire and ground, it should change smoothly as you move the sensor. It's another stupid design, easily adapted to a number of platforms, but suseptable to damage, replaced 2 already. Going to convert it over a a trimble style rotary pot and eliminate the headaches.
