Near-north Ontario, French River
The way I see it you have four options Option 1. Sell the crop you have stored and run for the hills. Option 2 sell the stored crop and purchase calls to give yourself at least the potential to add more to your selling price should markets continue to rise, this of course will cost you the price of the call options. Option 3. Sell some of the grain and hold the rest. Option 4. Continue you hold the grain but buy puts to give yourself some price protection should prices decline, again the the cost of the puts should be accounted for. And I suppose theres an Option 5.... a combination of any of the above options .
