Texas
I have a garmin 18A 5hz and do not believe that you will be happy with the accuracy of the 16A since they are essentially the same. It is OK for putting out fertilizer or plowing, but that is all. I am going to move to the novatel. If you decide to stick with the Garmin, contact me, as I will sell you mine. Here are some accuracy test reports from software:

Garmin:
After 10000 positions the accuracy was:
<0.5 m = 15.51 %
<1 m = 15.20 %
<2 m = 22.59 %
<3 m = 23.54 %
>3 m = 23.16 %
max dist=6.08703901283511

Novatel:

After 10000 positions the accuracy was:
<0.5 m = 59.66 %
<1 m = 31.89 %
<2 m = 8.15 %
<3 m = 0.25 %
>3 m = 0.05 %
max dist=3.28583193182414

Of course this will vary somewhat depending upon satillite availability.
