Subject: 3176 Cat vs L10 Cummins?

SE PA

I've been looking for a donor truck for a while (cause I need a lot of good stuff, cheap) and I've seen that trucks like I need with an L10 bring 2-3K more than a similar truck with a 3176 CAT. Is the Cat motor that bad?
