Post below about soap got me thinking.

I really can't afford or justify a heated pressurewasher. But I do have a hot water outlet on the side of house-I use warm water to wash cars and equipment through regular Karcher 3000psi gas powered powerwasher.

How hot can you go without damaging a pump on something like that?

It will say in the manual.

Most are less than the 120+ of a hotwater heater. They generally say specifically to not use hot water, the seals on the cheapies can't take it.

My dealer told me it is fine with a decent washer to run hot water through at about 120 degrees or so. This should be safe to run water from the house as, depending on what you have in your house, your water is probably set somewhere around 115 degrees in the house.

The only other thing he did tell me was that its when the pump is running and not moving any water that is hard on them. The one I got from them has a relief valve on the side of the pump that will start to blow water out on the ground if it gets to hot while its dead heading the pump.

Haven't run hot water through it yet but I want to get it set up with a LP tankless water heater to help get some of the grime and grease off my equipment.

What temp does it start to get hard on the paint? I was thinking that the wax protectant started to melt at like 140-150 degrees... so if you use a real hot water pressure washer you have to be careful not to damage the paint.

My 2 cents

All the hot water washers I've seen heat the water after the pump.

I have run hot water through my karcher washer for years with no problem. The reason is because it is soft and the cold is not in my shop.
good luck

I'm not wild about the idea of putting hot water ahead of the pump. The pump is getting a lot of its cooling from the water going through it. The hot water washers I've seen always put the heat on after the pump.

I have put hot water through my cat 310 pump for several years with no problems. Run is from the water heater or boiler. The boiler has water that is very very hot too.
