Ben, the problem with grazing corn that I ran into is that it does need to be mature before you graze it. It is different than silage which has time to convert nitrates. Regardless of the yield or how bad I need the grazing, standing corn has to be mature when you let the cattle in to it. As they say, BTDT. I can't see where 2nd crop corn planted in late June in MO into wheat stubble would mature enough to graze most years. Maybe something else would work but it needs to be tall enough and stand well enough to be above the snow thru the winter. Seems like beans would be all over the ground. Interesting thought.
