The coyotes here are worse than they have ever been also. I shot one the other day and the dogs bark every night. I shined a spot light down in the field one night and saw 6. They are trying to call the dogs out to kill here. I am thinking they could be getting hungry and might get a calf if things are right. What they will do is bother a cow until she cant have a calf or make her fight and stomp a calf after they are born. I have a australian shepherd dog that went out towards one and when she got up on him 3 more jumped up and started fanning out to get her. They even followed her up to the house and I was out calling her and they didnt even care. That is the night I shot one.
