Might tell you something, might not. I ran into a similar deal quite a few years ago on some coming 2 heifers and younger cows. Older cows did not seem affected.

Got two calves posted and the test results were inconclusive. Vet commented as he was getting tissue samples that if the calf had been a pig, he would have suspected Glasser's disease which is a form of H Somnus in swine. A lot of tissue inflammation was what he was going on.

Prior to this my herd did not have a vaccination history for H Somnus. Whatever it was ran its course. Lost about 6 calves prematurely and when calving time finally came everything went normally. Since then I try to keep my vaccination program current.
