Penobsquis, New Brunswick, Canada | around here, if you're pulling 5 x 16 Kverneland, you better have 140+ hp MFWD with european tires
but i witnessed a 2-85 2WD white pull 5 x 16 white 508 in the same field, same depth, same speed. later in the day the 508 plow was put on a 700 4WD white (weighted in the front) and it did the same job easier than the 2-85. the 700 was a fiat 780dt that white sold in canada.
i didn't beleive it could've been done, till that day, when i saw it.
so it depends on the soil conditions, the type of moldboard, the make of plow, the type of tires on the tractor and the weighting of the tractor, and lastly what crop is being plowed down and the preplow treatment to the field.
lots of variables....to answer your question.
my 2 cents
