Subject: Might be beater speed

Salina, Kansas
I remember reading that in the 7720-8820 series combines the beater was run at a different speed in a corn-soybean combine than in the combine just aimed at small grains. Could have been something like 3/4 cylinder speed for corn and 100 percent for wheat. In the parts book for a 9610 there is two different pulleys listed for the beater drive, one set gives 75 percent beater speed and one set gives 100 percent.
I am just guessing. An 8820 was the last time I heard a combine listed as being a corn combine and I know that is one of the items that make it such.
