Eastern Iowa | What would you guys think of this idea. Put the tractor running autopilot/Insight/Omnistar on the striptill machine and lay out all your strips. Next put a slide hitch (has about 18 inches of travel in each direction left and right) on that same tractor when pulling the planter. Would there be any chance of the tractor following the AB line well enough that you could just use the slide hitch to move the hitch back and forth well enough to keep the planter on the strip? I know RTK would be best but our fields are not close enough to hit with one tower or even with the help of a repeater. Mobile base station would be an option but not convenient. | |
