A person could use a cultivator bar, or even an old AA bar, if your going for a 3pt unit. I prefer the coulters made by Blu-jet. You might have to make your own brackets to be able to fit the bar size, but that isn't real difficult. Same with making a hitch for the bar if you decide to pull a tank. I've built several units thru the years, including building the entire bar. Pretty straight forward and not real hard to construct.

I currently run a Blu-jet AT4000 that was originally set-up for 15 x 30" coulters for tracking a 16 row planter, 1.5x rate tips on the two outside coulters. Went we went to the 24 row planter, I built another set of wings to stretch the unit to handle 23 x 30" coulters. Have used it for several years now without any problems.
