Best ROI on our farm IMHO. You have to look at a few things. Basis levels harvest vs later. Carry in the market, corn is worth more later in the year (not all years is the carry in the market good, but that is the exception not the rule). Drying for us northern people is a main reason why it pays so well. Drying charges will make you go broke in a hurry. The "I" states found that out this year. I only know of one farmer that farms more than a couple hundred acres that doesn't have a dryer and bins around here. And he is a chicken farmer who cash crops on the side. If you had to dry 20-28% corn every year you would buy a dryer and bins really fast.
